Polar Reconstruction.
ResponderEliminarArtic sea ice is melting about nine percent for a decade. When the ice is melting, it makes that all the species that depends of this ice to adapt and live, more difficult his survival, when increases the global warming, the beaches are losing his territory because the sea is increasing his level and the climatic chance are more abrupt. If the artic animals eventually died for their habitat destruction, all the animals in the food chain will suffer the consequences, and this eventually will destroy the climate balance in the world, with unimaginable destructions to the global environment. Polar habitat destruction it is becoming a global concern that has the potential to affect the entire planet unless preventive actions are taken.
The causes of the melting began from a particular point; human activity. Because of it, the ozone
layer starts to disappear, increasing the ultraviolet radiation and therefore global warming (measured like the increase in the average temperature of Earth´s atmosphere and oceans). Other human activities also are causes of the thaw: disforestation, burning fossil fuels, transport and industrial activities, resulting in an increase greenhouse gas emission which lead to an increase in the temperature.
For this problems that concerns to everybody, we have a creative and short- term solution, because is very difficult to stop the production and the industry in the world we want to apply this solution; put a lot of water in a biodegradable balloon, blow up to a short range in the atmosphere, so the water is going to freeze and the balloon for the air pressure will descend with a lot of ice to regulate the temperature of this established area. A lot of platforms are going to be built around the poles and doing the corresponding reconstruction of this area, investigating the marine’s currents and maritime life. In the balloons we will install some sensors for gather some information about the air currents, and with that information we can predict possible changes in the weather.
This short-term solution is the beginning for the pole´s reconstruction, we need the pole more than what he need us, our existence in the Earth depends a lot of how we are going to take care about the pole the next years, that is why we have to take awareness and to act now, The reconstruction of the pole is necessary for everybody and it has to be now.

Production of Biodiesel and Bioethanol from Microalgae
In the last centuries the contemporaneous societies have been living a drastically and severe environmental crisis by effects generated with the fast growing of the industrialization, population and urbanization. It has provoked few benefits effects for the subsistence of any living ecosystem on the earth. As a sign of that you could see the damage in the ozone layer, the oceans and the soil have been contaminated with garbage and toxic chemical compounds, the desertification, the current sea level rises or drought in some regions of the world (like Africa). We have the capacity to identify some of the causes of those destructive acts and one of them is the uncontrolled use of fossil fuels.
The disproportionate use of that sort of energetic resource has brought the emission of toxics gases like “Volatile Organic Compounds” or VOC (COx, NOx and SOx) as they are better known. These compounds only serve to accelerate the global warming. The source of fossil fuels is mainly petroleum, which is classified as a non-renewable resource that tends to disappear by its increasing demand. In this order of ideas, this demand is going to produce a great global energetic conflict because we depend on this power source.
The current and future generations life will depend largely on replacing polluting energy sources (coal, oil, gas, nuclear) for clean and respectful alternative sources with all biological ecosystems, as it is doing in these days with solar energy, wind, tidal, thermal and residual biomass. An energetic alternative proposal is the production of liquid fuels (bioethanol and biodiesel) from micro-algae.
Microalgae have the same function than any other plant on the planet. They take the radiation and CO2 present in the environment and then they transform that in cellulose and starch, that through fermentation we can take advantage of lipids product in order to make fuels. Both biodiesel and bioethanol show great results in their production from microalgae, as this would reduce production by 61% CO2 emissions because the gas released by combustion is set by the biomass when they are growing.
In short, the fuels production such as biodiesel and bioethanol is proposed from microalgae as one of the possible alternatives to supply a certain percentage of the global energy demand. Also, it is made in order to reduce the damage done to the habitat and seek to mitigate the effects of climate change, which was largely caused by the emissions of toxic gases which inherently brings the use of fossil fuels.

In the report, the capital of Antioquia and Bogotá they appear as the Colombian cities with more concentration of pollutant minor particles: powder, soot, ashes, metal and cement. In case of Colombia, ten cities appear in the list, and all of them exceed the indexes of the WHO.
The measured particles are so small that can be detected only by electronic microscope, but they can affect in a serious way the respiratory system.
The minor particles come in 70 per cent of the combustion of the oil - the diesel - and the natural gas. All used for the functioning of the autorails, which are those who also generate dirt in the houses and fronts of the buildings.
The mobile sources also contribute 74 per cent of the emission(issues) of carbon dioxide, 99 per cent of the emission(issues) of methane and 80 per cent of nitrous oxygen.One of the factors that influence in that Medellin is the city most contaminated is that it is located in the middle of a cannon, irregularly and hanging, on the central mountain chain, where there is no air flow.
This along with increment of the city population, it is affecting our life like our health, mobility,increase in global warming, but we continue consuming excess, and we don’t have awareness that it happening.
C4' ve taken the initiative to help on the plans of purification of air in the city, trying to work with “Metro” in search a project to develop the air quality. The company focused to improve the university projects has found one project in the Agricultural Science School of National University of Colombia, sectional Medellín, This project wants to reduce carbon footprint from the air,decreasing the amount vehicular.
The project from the National University has a approach with a very interesting plant “The Sugar Cane”, why is interesting? because it a winner plant in the photosynthesis, with a 7% photosynthetic efficiency and is the best plant to purify the air.
Our company decided to involve this discovery with the proposal the improved, and make a positive impact to our environment in our city.
C4 company along with UNAL, we proposed to pollution solution the sugar cane plantations around on the slopes of transport routes, usually used from meter lines; the concept’ s to make a green way with this plants replacing the actually plants that are ornamental and it mean that they don't purify too much and don't have a good ability to purify, like a palms,shrubbery... but always being careful with the large trees because are the home from many species of fauna.
In conclusion We propose an alternative solution integrated with the development system increasing growth of the city; this is a project that it should develop altogether with education from the residents, for create awareness about environmental protection because our planet is treating like infinite world.

During the oil refining process, waste or rubbish is produced. So, it is necessary to have an adequate treatment of this waste materials so that they do not generate environmental consequences. In recent years many people have made inquiries and have been interested in the disposal of this waste. In order to make proper use of them and make these materials useful to produce other industrial products, we propose to use advanced techology to create industrial products from the oil refining waste.
ResponderEliminarIn this case the company is not making proper use of such goods due to complaints and environmental impacts that are occurring, it is necessary to propose a project to provide solutions to the problems. What is sought is that the waste produced during the refining process have a proper disposal according to the type of waste, in order to reduce the impact they may cause not only to the environment but also in communities where water, fish and other kind of food could be contaminated.
In order to achieve this aim the purpose will be a classification of all waste that is obtained in the process and be classified according to its origin, and then according to their physical and chemical characteristics and finally to give the appropriate treatment to each of these. In order to use them again, the implementation of new technologies will allow these wastes to be produced as a raw material for other processes in other industries's needs.
After the implementation of this project, it is expected to use the waste in the best way and being used again in the company. Other wasted materials will be sold to other industries and like a last option, if residues are hazardous or toxic, they will be buried in order to minimize the environmental consequences.
